Ian Beck

Ian Beck is a highly experienced upstream petroleum professional with over 44 years of international industry experience, working across a diverse range of geological, operational, and cultural environments worldwide.

Beginning his career in reservoir engineering, Ian was an early adopter of reservoir simulation technology, leading field development studies and delivering technical training across the industry. Throughout his career, he has held a range of technical, managerial, and commercial leadership roles, providing him with a broad understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the upstream energy sector.

Ian has extensive experience in field development planning, reserves and resources estimation, asset valuation, and mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. He has served on joint venture committees, advised boards and senior leadership teams on strategic and investment decisions, and delivered technical assurance and peer reviews for major projects and operations. More recently, he has also acted as an expert witness and advisor in disputes relating to upstream petroleum activities.
