Ricki Charles
Senior Geologist

Ricki Charles is a highly experienced petroleum geologist with over 25 years of international experience in subsurface evaluation, field development, and project delivery across the upstream oil and gas sector.
Throughout his career, Ricki has held technical and project coordination roles with Shell, BG Group, and Petrofac Integrated Energy Services, contributing to the successful delivery of proved, probable, and contingent hydrocarbon resources across all stages of the asset lifecycle. He has also held senior positions on major capital projects involving extensive drilling and development activities.
Ricki has extensive expertise in field development planning, greenfield and brownfield developments, infill drilling programmes, exploration activities, equity determination, unitisation, and acquisitions and divestments. He is highly proficient in seismic interpretation, geological mapping, 3D reservoir modelling, well planning, volume estimation, and risk assessment. In addition to his industry roles, Ricki has served as Vice President of the Petroleum Exploration Society of Great Britain and as Technical Director for the PETEX Conferences, reflecting his commitment to advancing technical excellence within the industry.
