Nabih Khristin

Technical Advisor, Syria

Nabih Khristen is a highly experienced petroleum engineering and geochemistry specialist with over 30 years of expertise in oil and gas exploration, reservoir evaluation, petroleum systems analysis, and field development.

Throughout his career, Nabih has held a number of senior technical and leadership positions within the energy sector, most notably serving as Director General of the General Petroleum Corporation (GPC), Syria's national oil company. In this role, he led major exploration and production initiatives, oversaw strategic partnerships with international operators, and contributed to the development of Syria's upstream oil and gas industry.

Nabih holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum Geological Engineering from the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia in Moscow and has built an extensive academic and research career alongside his industry experience. His areas of expertise include surface geochemical surveys, hydrocarbon system analysis, geochemical modelling, and reservoir evaluation. He has lectured at leading universities in Syria and Russia, contributed to numerous technical committees and industry conferences, and continues to support the advancement of petroleum science as a lecturer in Petroleum Geochemistry at the Syrian Private University (SPU).
